End of Lease Cleaning Checklist for Brisbane Renters
Brisbane property managers don't grade on effort — they grade on a checklist. Use this one and you'll know exactly what's between you and your bond.
After hundreds of bond cleans across Greater Brisbane and Logan, four areas stand out as the most common reasons property managers withhold part of a bond. Get these right and your inspection should be smooth.
1. Oven, range hood and stovetop
Inside oven walls, racks, glass door (between the panes), the range hood filter and the stovetop knobs. This is the single most failed area at inspection. If the racks come out, soak them overnight.
2. Bathroom grout, silicone and exhaust fans
Mould in grout lines, mineral build-up around taps, soap scum on glass, and lint inside exhaust fan covers. Brisbane's humidity makes bathroom mould a fast-growing issue — most agents check exhaust covers.
3. Window tracks, sills and flyscreens
Tracks accumulate dirt that vacuuming alone won't shift. Use a damp cloth wrapped around an old butter knife. Flyscreens should be removed, hosed and dried before re-installing.
4. Walls, skirting boards and door frames
Spot-clean scuffs and marks. Light switches and door handles are tested by the dirtiest finger an agent owns. Skirting boards should look freshly wiped, not streaked.
